Contour Stereo Matching by Correlation in a Constraint Satisfaction Approach
نویسنده
چکیده
Stereo vision is the recovery of depth of a scene using multiple images with di erent points of view. The major task in stereo vision is establishing correspondence of points between images given a known pinhole-model of the stereo cameras. Two major approaches to matching points have been used widely: feature-based matching and areaor correlationbased matching. It is well known that both approaches have speci c advantages and disadvantages. We describe a method for the matching of contours in a constraint satisfaction approach. Contour matches allow for depth estimation of textured surfaces and objects boundaries to sub-pixel accuracy. These depth estimates may be used for geometric object modeling. We analyze and provide quantative results of the constraint-based stereo matching, and additionally present some examples of objects models obtained with our approach.

Optimizing Disparity Candidates Space in Dense Stereo Matching
In this paper, a new approach for optimizing disparity candidates space is proposed for the solution of dense stereo matching problem. The main objectives of this approachare the reduction of average number of disparity candidates per pixel with low computational cost and high assurance of retaining the correct answer. These can be realized due to the effective use of multiple radial windows, i...
متن کاملOptimisation Approaches to Constraint Satisfaction Problems in Computer Vision
This paper describes several new image understanding methods based on parallel operation. There are several constraint satisfaction approaches using a energy minimization. We show how we reconstruct three dimensional surfaces from contours without elevation data and sparse points of known elevation data by using this approach. We also introduce Active Net using this approach and apply this mode...
متن کاملGlobal Techniques for Edge based Stereo Matching
Depth perception is one of the most active research areas in computer vision. Passive stereo vision is a well known technique for obtaining 3-D depth information of objects seen by two or more video cameras from different viewpoints (Hartley & Zisserman, 2000|Brown et al., 2003). The difference of the viewpoint positions causes a relative displacement of the corresponding features in the stereo...

|We propose a reliable method to detect occluding contours and occlusion by active binocular stereo with an occluding contour model that describes the correspondence between the contour of curved objects and its projected image. Applying the image ow generated by moving one camera to the model, we can restrict possible matched points seen by the other camera. We detect occluding contours by tti...
متن کاملNew Pseudo-CT Generation Approach from Magnetic Resonance Imaging using a Local Texture Descriptor
Background: One of the challenges of PET/MRI combined systems is to derive an attenuation map to correct the PET image. For that, the pseudo-CT image could be used to correct the attenuation. Until now, most existing scientific researches construct this pseudo-CT image using the registration techniques. However, these techniques suffer from the local minima of the non-rigid deformation energy f...
